Peewee C Wolverines win Milverton Holiday Challenge
The Wilmot Wolverine Peewee C girls finished strong in the Holiday Challenge tournament in Milverton this weekend. After a slow start the team saved their best games for the elimination round.   On Saturday morning the Wolverines faced the Mount Forest Rams in the semi final game.  This was a goaltenders duel into the third with Wilmot forcing the Mount Forest goalie to make quality saves with a high number of good scoring chances and the Wolverines goaltender Gillian Knarr keeping the Rams off the scoreboard into the third period.  With 3 minutes remaining in the game Katie Martin scored an unassisted goal to break the scoreless tie and the Wolverines went on to win the game 1-0.

On Saturday afternoon the Peewee C Wolverines would face the TCDMHA Rebels.  The Wolverines got on the board first, two and a half minutes into the first period Marley O'Connell set up Katie Martin for a goal giving Wilmot a 1-0 lead. Halfway through the second period Maddi Stainer-Mace passed the puck to Marley O'Connell in front of the net, O'Connell put the puck in the net to give the Wolverines a 2-0 lead. Gillian Knarr made several key saves and Wilmot's defence crew, made up of Kate "Baumer" Baumgart, Kara "Cookie" Cook, Julia "Jules" James and Morgan "Mo" Stock, did a great job of containing the Rebels strong offensive players.  The Rebels scored twice in the third to force the two teams to a 5 minute 3 on 3 overtime.  Just 14 seconds into overtime Taryn McIntyre set up Katie Martin for a goal that would end the game and give the Wolverines the championship for the tournament's Peewee C division.

Wilmot's game MVPs in the tournament were Camryn Lamond, Gillian Knarr, Katie Martin and Kate Baumgart.
