The Wilmot Wolverine Peewee C team followed last week's big 3-1 win over 1st place Twin Centre by putting in a strong performance at the Orillia Hawks Tournament. The Wolverines started off against Peterborough and spent most off the game in the Peterborough zone but didn't capitalize on the offensive zone pressure until the first minute of the 3rd period when Marley O'Connell opened the scoring with assists by Romy Van Rooyen and Avery Vance. Taryn McIntyre put the finishing touches on the 2-0 win when she scored midway through the 3rd period (assisted by Kate Baumgart).

The Wilmot Wolverines played host to the Grand River Mustangs in a battle for third place in the division. The Wolverines were down 1-0 in the first period but got on the board with an unassisted goal from Katie Martin. They would pull ahead with another goal from Martin (assisted by Kamryn Lamond and Madison Stainer-Mace). Wilmot would add to their lead in the second period with a goal from Taryn McIntyre (assisted by Ella Fleming and Leah Wagler). The Wolverines would lead 4-1 after an unassisted goal by Kate Baumgart, the Mustangs would counter with 2 goals but Wilmot held on for a 4-3 win.

The Wilmot Wolverine Peewee C girls finished strong in the Holiday Challenge tournament in Milverton this weekend. After a slow start the team saved their best games for the elimination round. On Saturday morning the Wolverines faced the Mount Forest Rams in the semi final game. This was a goaltenders duel into the third with Wilmot forcing the Mount Forest goalie to make quality saves with a high number of good scoring chances and the Wolverines goaltender Gillian Knarr keeping the Rams off the scoreboard into the third period. With 3 minutes remaining in the game Katie Martin scored an unassisted goal to break the scoreless tie and the Wolverines went on to win the game 1-0.

The Wilmot Wolverines Peewee C team travelled to St. Clements and took on the undefeated Twin Centre Hericanes in exhibition action. Wilmot started strong in the first period with aggressive play in both ends of the ice and were rewarded when Leah Wagler scored (assisted by Katie Martin) and put the team up 1-0. Romy Van Rooyen then gave the Wolverines a two goal lead when she scored (assisted by Kate Baumgart). Twin Centre scored to get within one goal but the Wolverines held on for a 2-1 win.
