Game 2 of the Kyla Kowalik Tournament
Our second game was a late one - 9:30 at night. We played against Port Colborne Wave. After our loss to Waterloo the girls were hungry for a win. Layton was in net for the Wolverines this game. The girls were working hard against a quick Port Colborne team. The score was 0-0 at the end of the first. Port Colborne opened up the scoring in the second period at 8:07. The Wolverines were not discouraged and came back to score at 6:27 with a goal by Alana Miller unassisted. With the score tied the girls were eager to score a second one. However Port Colborne had other ideas and scored a quick goal with 56 seconds left in the period.
Both teams worked hard in the third but the score remained 2-1 for Port Colborne. The girls played very well. Way to go girls! Our next game is at 4:00 on Saturday against Flamborough. Good luck to the girls in the skills competition at 1:00.
