Game 10 - Home against the Lady Rangers
Tonight the Wolverines took on the Kitchener Lady Rangers. This game was crucial for the girls as they needed a tie or a win tonight to make it into the final four playoff round. The girls were nervous and excited to play but knew they had to keep their heads in the game and play hard to achieve their goal. Michaela Baker was in net for this game as Alisha is still recovering from an ankle injury but did dress for the game. The Wolverines started off a bit slow but soon gained their momentum. They fought hard and skated hard. The play was back and forth throughout the first period and it ended 0-0. The battle continued in the second period as both teams were eager to score that first goal. If the Lady Rangers won they would pass us and make it to the final four. Late in the

second period Hailley Norman brought the puck into the Kitchener end and took a shot which was deflected. Chiara Baumbach was in front of the net and with some help from Jenna Caslick and Victoria Clark they managed to get one in. The team was ecstatic! The second period ended with us leading 1-0. Now the game became even more intense as we fought to keep our lead and Kitchener battled to even it up. The third period was fast paced and a little chippy. There was a pair of penalties late in the third but both teams had a player in the box. Once the penalties were done Kitchener pulled their goalie and an already exciting game became even more intense. The play was in our end and we made several attempts to clear it. The girls stayed strong and came away the winners. Way to go girls! Now that they have made it to the final four they will play the first place team after March Break. The top two teams still have two games left to play against each other so we don't yet know who we will play. Stay tuned!! Go Wolverines!
