Home for Game 8
The Wolverines faced off against the Stratford Aces at home for fifth time this year. The girls were wanting a win as our games against this team have always been intense and close. Michaela Baker was in net and had an outstanding game. The girls started out the game playing hard and passing. There was a lot of back and forth play but neither team was able to score. The first period ended 0-0. In the second period there were several penalties and we were on the penalty kill several times. There was a lot of back and forth play as well and the score was still 0-0 at the end of the second. In the third period Stratford scored 5 min into the period in a scramble in front of the net. The girls tried really hard to tie it up but ran out of time when the game was curfewed.
The game ended with Stratford winning 1-0. The girls are tied with Stratford in league play. We have two important games remaining before playoffs. Our next game is in Fergus this coming Saturday against the Grand River Mustangs. Good luck girls!
