Wolverines Red Hot!
The Novice B Wilmot Wolverines continue to gel and pump out the wins.  This past week the Wolverines took on the Stratford Aces defeating them with a score of 3-1.  Then, the team also won on the road in Guelph with a score of 4-0.  The girls are working hard and skating fast.

In the Stratford game, the red hot line of Jenna Kumpf, Lauren Bast and Paige Carter scored all three goals, with two going to Bast and one to Kumpf.  Carter is a force on the ice and never gives up, making her a threat offensively, and an excellent line-mate.  Bast always passes the puck well and Kumpf works hard in the corners to dig it out in front.  Goaltending by Kara Mark continues to be a strength for the Wolverines, as Stratford also had some real hustlers and tough shots that Mark saved.  In the game against Guelph, high-flying Carson Weiler was everywhere for the Wolverines and had an outstanding game.  Emily Hussey scored two goals with assists going to Sierra Egli, Paige Carter and Kayla Schenk.  First regular season goals went to Mikayla O'Connell with assists by Paige Jurica and Lindsay Slessor, and Egli scored with assists to Weiler and Hussey.  The offense is coming from all three lines for the Wolverines as they continue to work on their team passing, and back checking.  The defense is also solid with two pairs, Jayden Calder and Schenk, and Maddie McCormick and Alisha Latyn.  The defensive players are incredible skaters and very tough at the blue line.   Mark had an outstanding glove save in the Guelph game.  It is a true team effort each time the girls step on the ice and their spirit is infectious.  The Wolverines look forward to their second tournament of the season in Kitchener at the Fall Fest Tournament this coming weekend.  Go Wolverines!
