Wolverines Land On Top
The Wilmot Wolverines Novice B team ended their regular season at the top of the heap with a win over the Waterloo Ravens 2-0.  Not only did the Wolverines clinch first place in their division, but also had the best win percentage of all of the Novice B teams in the Lower Lakes Female Hockey League.

The Ravens have improved vastly and gave the Wolverines a run for their money but eventually Mikayla O'Connell tucked a goal away after a pass from Lindsay Slessor and Emily Hussey to give the girls a lead.  Later, Carson Weiler secured the second goal with a great skate right at the goalie.  Tremendous hustle and team play from Paige Carter and Lauren Bast.  Tough defense from Alisha Latyn, Kayla Schenk and Maddie McCormick.  Kara Mark was solid in net and remained focused, and Jenna Kumpf showed great versatility.  The Wolverines now have a bye in play-off action and will take on the winner of a series between Woodstock and Guelph.  Round robin play will also begin as the Wolverines prepare for Provincial play downs.  Go Wolverines!
