Wolverines On a Run!
The Wilmot Wolverine Novice B team continues on a roll as they walked away with two big wins at away games on the weekend. The Wolverines took on the Woodstock Wildcats and defeated them with a score of 2-0. The Wildcats are a very tough team and have many skilled players, but the Wolverines worked hard and stayed aggressive. The first goal of the game was scored on a beautiful end to end breakaway by Paige Jurica. The second Wolverine goal was scored late in the third period as Woodstock was pulling their goalie; Carson Weiler took it to the net to make it 2-0. Awesome defensive play by Maddie McCormick. Great goaltending by Kara Mark as she continues to stay tough in net.
In their second game on the weekend, the Wolverines played the Stratford Aces and won 4-0. A HAT TRICK went to Lauren Bast as she tore up the ice, and the fourth goal to Emily Hussey. All of the players worked extremely hard and passed the puck well. Special mention to Jenna Kumpf as she played a different role on defence to help cover for a team mate not feeling well. Kara Mark was solid in net again and had many saves. The Wolverines will take on Grand River next Saturday. Go Wolverines!!
