Great Start to the Season
The Novice LL #2 Wolverines have had a great start to the season posting a record to-date of 5-0-0!

Game 1 of the season was a 5-1 win over the Kitchener Dolphins and was a great start for the team.  Juliana B. played well in net for the first game of the season.  The team saw points put up by Claire W., Ada B. and Olivia B.

Game 2 of the schedule took us to Waterloo where the team posted a 9-1 win over the host team (Waterloo #4).  Audrey M. stood tall in net and goals were contributed by Claire W., Ada B, Raelyn C. and Olivia B.  Strong defensive play by Emily F., Olivia B., Paige Y. and Kasey L. helped to keep a lot of the play in the other team’s end for most of the game.

Game 3 took the team to Fergus to play the Grand River Mustangs #1.  This team presented perhaps the biggest challenge for our team to-date as they were a very good skating team.  The Wolverines ended up skating away with a 3-0 win with Juliana B. coming up with some timely saves in goal.  Claire W., Ada B. and Olivia B. led the way on the score sheet and Faith A., Tori B. and Aziza P. had a standout game always hustling to the open puck.

Game 4 was played back on home ice against Woolwich Wild.  Most of the players were shuffled around to a different position to give everyone an opportunity to play somewhere new.  The team skated to a 6-0 win over the visitors with points put up by Claire W., Kasey L., Olivia B., Julianna B.  and Emmie F.  Juliana B. went home with her second shutout of the season.

Game 5 was again at home against a different Waterloo team (#1).  This game had a few firsts in the 6-2 win with both Faith A. and Emmie F. getting their first goals of the season.  Congratulations girls!!  Other points were contributed by Kasey L., Olivia B. and Claire W.  Audrey M. got the W in goal.   Olivia P. also played the opponents blue line well on defence keeping the puck in the other team’s zone on a couple different occasions.

The team welcomed Bronwyn B. back to the lineup. The team travels to Cambridge this Saturday for a morning game and then off to Coach Dan’s for a potluck starting at 1pm.

They will be participating in the North Halton Twisters Fall Classic tournament November 21-23 in Milton.
