Wolverines Novice B finish an Impressive Regular Season
The Wilmot Wolverines Novice B Team closed out their regular season with an offensive win against the Waterloo Ravens. Wilmot would take the lead early and continue their offensive threat.  Wolverine’s defense kept the Ravens at bay without a shot on net.

The Wolverines had an impressive regular season finishing tied with Cambridge and sharing first place.  The team finished the regular season with 15 wins 3 losses and 4 ties.  They scored 131 goals while giving up only 34.  They have the best GF-GA record in their loop and posted the 2nd best in all of Lower lakes to date.  The girls have participated in two tournaments so far this season taking home the gold medal in both the Raven Fall Challenge Cup and the Whitby Tournament of Heroes.  The girls posted some impressive tournament stats with 11 wins 0 losses and 1 tie.  Their goals for 94 and just 13 against in tournament play.  Overall this season, the girls have played 39 games including exhibition, regular season and tournament play.  They have posted 31 wins 3 loses and 5 ties.  They have scored 260 goals and gave up 55. They had an undefeated streak of 22 games that stretched from October 25 to December 19th.

The Wolverines have earned a bye in the first round of Lower Lakes Female Hockey League Playoffs.  They will see Provincial Play down action against Woolwich, Kitchener and Cambridge for chance to compete at the year end Provincial Championships in Toronto.

Next up, the girls will compete in the North Westhumberland Girls Classic Hockey Tournament this weekend Jan 15-17th and the Cambridge Roadrunners Annual New Years Challenge Girls Hockey Tournament the following weekend.

Great appreciation goes out to the coaching staff who have continued to strengthen and develop some fine young hockey players.
