Wolverines Win Tournament Championship
The Wilmot Wolverines Novice B team traveled to Whitby this past weekend to take part in the Tournament of Heroes.  The team was in tough in game one as they took on a strong Durham West Team.  Wilmot would take the lead in the first with a goal from Maeve Turner (assisted by Jaden Greenlee).  The Wolverines took another lead in the third period but the game would end in a tie as Durham West scored in the dying seconds of the game to earn a 2-2 tie in game one.  For post game interviews click here.

Wilmot would start slow in game two against Burlington as period 1 would end tied 0-0.  The Wolverines then found their scoring touch with goals from Sarah Bell, Paige Yoworski, Jaden Greenlee, Amaya Snyder, Maeve Turner and Leah McPhee. The Wolverines would record a second straight shutout in game 3 against Ottawa. This time Aziza Pringle was in net and had help from the defence crew of Neve Schweitzer, Anushka Jawkar, Sydney Henhoeffer, Raelyn Cook & Tori Burchatzki .  This game would end 5-0 with Lauren Leis was among the goal scorers.

Game four was a close fought battle against a strong North York team.  Goals from Turner and Greenlee would lift the team to a 3-2 third period victory after a very close back and forth battle.  This game 4 victory would see the Wolverines end the round robin portion of the tournament with an undefeated record of 3-0-1.

In the semi-final the Wolverines would post their third shutout of the tournament.  Taylor Gibson was among the goal scorers in this 3-0 victory that sealed the Wolverines place in the finals.  For post game analysis click here. In the finals the Wolverines would once again face North York but this time the Wolverines would get out to a 4-0 lead which included a goal by Taylor Miller.  Julianna Baptie was the goaltender for a majority of this final game with Aziza Pringle making a brief appearance as the team held on for a 4-2 tournament championship win.
