Atom LL's Start Second Half with a Win and a Loss
The Atom LL's began the second part of their season with a home game against the Milverton Royals.
The Wolverines fell behind the Royals in the first period. However, despite missing a few players on the bench, the Wolverines fought back to score one goal in the second period, and one in the third for the win. Scoring for the Wolverines were Madison D (Rachel E. and Sequoia P.) and Sykora W. (Veronica B. and Isabelle B). Wolverine Players of the Game honors were awarded to Madison D. and Kya G.
This past Sunday, the Wolverines travelled to Fergus to take on the Grand River Mustangs #1. In a very evenly matched game, the Wolverines played well and were able to keep the puck in the Mustang's end for much of the game.
Late in the first period, the Mustangs took a one goal lead, sneaking one past goaltender Eva C.
Throughout the game, the Wolverines showed some positive improvements to their game, in particular, carrying the puck out of our end, and setting up some great chances in front of the Mustang's net. Unfortunately, and despite pulling the goalie in the last minute of play, the Wolverines couldn't connect for a goal, and ended up taking a 1-0 loss.
Players of the game for the Wolverines were Maeve C., who was solid on defense, and Selyna B. who put in a lot of effort on forward. Next game is this Wednesday evening at the WRC.
