Wolverines and Bobcats Tie
In their second meeting of the second half of the season, the Wilmot Wolverines Atom LL's and the Kitchener Bobcats skated to a 1-1 tie.
The Wolverines proved they could play fast, intense hockey with a great effort against the Bobcats. The game saw great skating by all of the Wolverines, and many scoring chances throughout the game.
For much of the first period, the Wolverines dominated the play and kept the puck in the Bobcat's end. However, it took until very late in the second period for anyone to get one in the net. With some hard work by the Wolverines to keep the puck in the Bobcats zone, Rachel E. got the opportunity and gave the Wolverines a 1-0 lead.
The Wolverines held onto the lead ​briefly, however the Bobcats were able to tie the score early into the third. That would be it for scoring, as the two teams played an exciting third period. Wolverines goaltender Eva C. made some keys saves late in the third, to keep the Bobcats from taking the lead.
Wolverines players of the game were Julia P., Isabelle B., and Julia S., who made an excellent late game play to prevent a Bobcats' scoring opportunity.
The Wolverines play their final regular season game next Saturday against the Kitchener Lions.
