Wolverines Face Stratford Aces
The Atom LL's travelled to Stratford this past Saturday, to take on the Aces in an early morning match-up.
The Wolverines had a good start in the game, getting on the scoreboard first with a great shot by Veronica B., assisted by Madison D, and Maeve C. The first period ended with the Wolverines up 1-0.
Unfortunately, the Aces offense came out strong in the second and third periods, with Stratford tallying 6 goal in those two periods. The Wolverines added one more goal in the third with Veronica B. scoring again, assisted by Madison D. and Julia S. The final score was 6-2.
Goaltender Eva C. gave a good effort against the strong offensive pursuit by the Aces, with the help of the Wolverines defense of Maeve C., Julia S., Jessica B., and Kya G.
Some great passing was demonstrated by forwards Veronica B., and Madison D. As well, Selyna B, Sykora W. and Sequoia P. showed some great hustle against the fast-skating Aces. Good scoring opportunities by Rachel E. and Grace B. couldn't quite get past the Aces goaltender, who stood strong in the Stratford net. Team members Molly F., and Julia P. also gave a good effort.
The Wolverines hope to finish off the first half of the season on a winning note, with their final pre-Christmas game this Wednesday night against the Kitchener Lions at the WRC. Good luck girls!
