Halton Twisters Fall Classic Tournament
Over the weekend, the Wolverine Atom LL's participated in the Halton Twisters Fall Classic Tournament, making it to the semi-finals

The Wolverines started the tournament with an early morning game against the Clarington Flames.  The Wolverines got on the scoreboard first, with a goal from Jessica B, assisted by Sykora W. The Wolverines second goal of the game was scored by Rachel E, unassisted.  Unfortunately, the Wolverines were unable to add anymore to the scoreboard and the Flames went on to win 4-2.

In their second game, later that same day, the Wolverines faced the North Halton Purple Panthers. It was a faced-paced game that saw lots of scoring chances at both ends of the ice. The Wolverines showed some excellent teamwork and determination and were able to skate to a 5-4 win. Scoring for the Wolverines were Rachel E (3), Sykora W. (1) and Veronica B. (1). Assisting on the goals were Sykora W., Rachel E., Selyna B. (2), Julia S., and Madison D.

In their final game of the round-robin, the Wolverines met the North Halton Blue Alligators in another early morning game. Once again, the Wolverines showed that they can be a strong offensive force, chalking up 5 goals to the Alligator's 2. Goal scorers in this game were Madison D. (2), Rachel E. (2), and Jessica B. Assists went to Veronica B. (2), Sykora W., Selyna B. and Julia P. The win allowed the Wolverines to advance to the semi-finals.

The semi-final game saw the Wolverines up against the Burlington Wildfire. The Wildfire were a fast team with a lot of offensive power. The Wildfire got on the scoreboard early, and often, skating to a 7-1 win over the Wolverines. The Wolverines lone goal was scored by Maeve C., assisted by Julia P. and Madison D.

Despite the disappointing loss in the semi-final game, the Wolverines can be extremely proud of their showing at the Halton Twisters Fall Classic. The girls showed excellent teamwork and skill development. Throughout the tournament, goaltender Eva C. made many excellent saves. Some strong defensive plays were made by Kya G, Grace B., Maeve C., and Julia S to help out in front of the net. As well, team members Molly F., Isabelle B. and Sequoia P. showed some strong support for the Wolverines offensive attacks.

The Wolverines have 3 games remaining in the first half of the season. Their next game is December 6th against the Kitchener Stingers.
