Atom B Wolverines Off to Incredible Start
B-W Feed & Seed's amazing Atom B Wolverines are off to an incredible start as they secured two notches for the win column this past weekend. The Wolverines started their season opener in Elmira against the Woolwich Wild, celebrating a big win 7-1. With a shaky start, the Wild took the lead 1-0 but not long after that Mikayla O'Connell potted the first goal of the season to tie it up.
The Wolverines then began to find their groove and dominated the play. With solid defense from Kayla Schenk, Carson Weiler and Bella Davidson, the Wolverines kept firing at the net and the forwards Paige Jurica, Paige Carter and Lauren Bast did their job by scurrying in front to score. Great determination by netminder Alisha Latyn in the game. Brianna Arends was on fire as she covered the ice end to end scoring multiple times.
In the second game of the weekend, Wilmot defeated the Brantford Icecats 9-0. Outstanding play by the entire team, with special mention to Olivia Lichti and Sydney Knorr. Scoring came from all three offensive lines and the team played as a unit, with great passing from Sierra Egli and Jenna Kumpf. Lindsay Slessor and Rayne Bowden were determined at the blue line and solid on defense. Emily Jantzi was focused in net and made some brilliant saves.
