Wolverines remain undefeated!
The Wolverines played at home Saturday Oct 29th and debuted their player introduction with music against a tough opponent in Ayr 2.

The high scoring Rockets would strike first early in the 1st period.  The Wolverines would respond shortly after and come out of the period with a 2-1 lead.  The Wolverines were rewarded in the 2nd period executing breakouts from our zone and defensive coverage like we have been working on the last few weeks in practice.   This led to a 5-1 lead after 2 periods.  The Rockets would have a push of their own in the 3rd period and the teams would trade goals for an eventual 6-2 Wolverines victory!

There were many memorable moments for the coaching staff and players alike in this game.  Some of them, but certainly not all included:  Emmie scoring her first goal of the season; Charlee on a partial breakaway; Claire scoring from center ice; Kasey with a number of awesome saves in the 3rd period; and Emily and Aleah both had their best games of the season on defense.

The Wolverines would travel to Stratford for a Sunday matinee with the Aces.  The Wolverines had a number of opportunities in the 1st period, but struggled to hit the net.  They did a much better job in the 2nd and 3rd periods as large chunks of the period were played in the offensive zone, but could not solve the Aces goaltender that faced well over 20 shots in the game.

With just over 4 minutes left in the 3rd period, the Aces would score on a breakaway and register their first shot of the game at the same time.  The Wolverines pulled their goaltender with roughly 1 minute and 30 seconds to go in order to get the extra attacker on the ice.  Rowyn would end up solving the Aces goaltender putting the puck up and over the stopper to tie the game with 44 seconds left, scoring her first goal of the season.  The teams would exchange chances in the remaining regulation time, but neither could break the 1-1 tie.
