Wolverines start the season at 2-0!
The Atom LL1 Wolverines kicked off their
season against Kitchener Blue on October 12th.
The Wolverines had a 4-0 lead by the end of
the 2nd period while limiting their opponent to only 1 shot on net –
and 4 shots overall in the game.
The Wolverines had goals by Teagan, Claire,
Faith, and Olivia B. Assists went out to
Emmie, Faith, and Claire.
Goaltender Kasey preserved the shutout
stopping a breakaway and rebound with only 2 minutes left in the game.
The Wolverines would then travel to Fergus on October 22nd to play the Grand River Mustangs 1. After a bit of slow start for the Wolverines early in the 1st period, the Mustangs managed to get on the board and take a 1-0 lead. The Wolverines would strike quickly after and come out of the period with a 2-1 lead. They would end up leaving Fergus with a 4-1 W. The Wolverines had goals by Teagan, Faith and Claire. Assists went out to Claire, Olivia P., Audrey, Teagan and Rowyn.
Team Potluck was hosted at Coach Dan’s house after the game. Everyone had a great time and thanks to everyone for their participation and Dan, Andrea and Emmie for hosting. The team next plays Ayr 2 at home on Saturday October 29th.
