Two More Wins for Atom LL's
Fresh off their silver medal finish at the Halton Twisters Fall Classic, the Atom LL's continued their winning ways, collecting two more victories over the weekend.
On Saturday the Wolverines travelled to Stratford to face the Aces for the first time this season. It turned out to be a great team effort, with the Wolverines collecting a 4-0 victory.
The Wolverines strong defensive team of Natasha H., Kya G., Olivia B., Lauryn P., Kasey L., and Ocean N. played an outstanding game, allowing only minimal Ace's shots to make it to goaltender Kristen S., who collected the shut-out.
Also playing a tremendous game were forwards Allison A., Jayden D., Emmie F., Sykora W., and Rowyn B., generating some excellent rushes into the Ace's zone, as well as some great scoring opportunities in front of the net.
The Wolverines began the game with a flurry of shots on the Ace's goaltender, but did not get on the board until early in the second, when Faith A. found her own rebound and fired one into the net. The Wolverines second goal came on another rebound with Maeve C. scoring, assisted by Ada B.
Maeve C. later collected her second of the game, unassisted. And with under a minute left in the third period, Jayden D. made a great rush towards the Ace's net, leading to a rebound that Seylna B. put past the goaltender.
On Sunday, the Wolverines welcomed the Guelph Jr. Gryphons and came away with another 4-0 victory.
Goaltender Emmie F. made her debut in net and collected the shut-out with some great saves, as well as some strong support again from the Wilmot defense. Defensive support came from Faith A., Olivia B., Lauryn P., Oceana N., Kya G. and Natasha H.
Also playing a strong game were forwards Kasey L., Kristen S., and Sykora W., as well as defense Olivia B. who made some great rushes towards the Gryphon net.
Ada B. opened up the scoring, assisted by Sykora W. Jayden D. added to the lead with Selyna B collecting the assist. Maeve C. made a beautiful shot over the Gryphon goaltender, assisted by Olivia B. And the Wolverines rounded up the scoring with Allison A. finding the net after a pass from Maeve C.
The Wolverines wrap up the first half of the season next Sunday against the Kitchener Lady Rangers Red.
