Atom LL's Bring Home Silver Medal
This past weekend, the Wilmot Wolverine Atom LL’s participated in the North Halton Twisters Fall Classic and proudly brought home the silver medal.

The Wolverines started the tournament with a commanding 5-1 win over the Halton SheHulks. Wolverines goal scorers were Selyna B. (2), Maeve C. (2) and Ada B. (1), with Ada picking up an assist in the game as well.

Game 2 versus the Kitchener Lady Rangers Blue was a 1-0 final, with a goal from Ada B., assisted by Maeve C. and Emmie F. Goaltender Kasey L. picked up the shut-out.

Game 3 versus the Halton Purple Predators was another close one, with the Wolverines picking up 2 more goals from Ada B., and an assist from Maeve C., to take the win 2-1. Goaltender Kristen S. played an amazing game between the pipes.

After winning all 3 of their round-robin games, the Wolverines finished first in their 4-team pool and moved onto the semi-finals against the Kitchener Lady Rangers White. The semi-final game proved to be a nail-biter, with the Lady Rangers taking a 1-0 lead late in the game. However, the entire Wolverines team showed determination and resiliency to come back and tie the game with a goal from Ada B., assisted by Emmie F. to send the game to OT.  In OT, the Wolverines continued to play hard and claimed the 2-1 victory when Sykora W. made an excellent pass to Jayden D., who put it past the Rangers’ goaltender.

The Wolverines faced a tough SCFHA Brock Jr. Badgers team in the Championship game. After playing two scoreless periods, the Badgers picked up the first goal of the game mid-way through the third period. However, the Wolverines once again showed their grit and determination and tied the game with just 5 minutes remaining, after Selyna B. set up Ada B., who fired one past the Badgers goaltender, once again sending the game to OT.

In the 4 on 4 OT, the Wolverines played their hearts out. Unfortunately, the Badgers were able to sneek one into the net, midway through the OT, to claim the victory.

Wolverines fans proudly saluted their team, as the girls were awarded the silver medal. Congratulations to the entire team of Rowyn B., Allison A., Olivia B., Lauryn P., Selyna B., Kirsten S., Emmie F., Kasey L., Faith A., Sykora W., Oceana N., Ada B., Maeve C., Jadyn D., Kya G., and Natasha H.
