Atom LL's Win Second in a Row
The Wilmot Wolverines welcomed the Grand River Mustangs #2 to the WRC on Wednesday evening in their second home game this week.
In the opening period, the two teams played a fairly evenly matched game, with each team picking up two goals.
Scoring for the Wolverines in the first were Selyna B, from Natasha H. and Oceana N, unassisted. The Wolverines kept the game tied with some excellent goaltending by Kasey L., as well as a little help from the goal post.
In the second and third periods, the Wolverines put their offensive skills on display, picking up 2 more goals in the second period and 4 more in the third period. Goal scorers were Ada B. (4), Faith A., and Maeve C. Assists went to Selyna B., Allison A., Maeve C. (3) and Emmie F. (2).
In addition, the Wolverine defensive team of Natasha H., Olivia B., Oceana N., Kristen S., Lauryn P. and Kya G. showed a tremendous effort and were able to quickly and consistently keep the puck out of the Wolverines zone.
Wolverines forwards Rowyn B, Sykora W. and Jayden D. all played extremely hard and were able to put the pressure on the Mustangs team, with some excellent rushes.
The Wolverines take on the Kitchener Lady Rangers in their next home game, and will also participate in the North Halton Twisters Fall Classic next weekend. Good luck Wolverines!!
