Wolverines Pick Up First Win on Home Ice
The Wilmot Wolverine Atom LL's picked up their first win on home ice last night against the Waterloo Ravens #2.
The Wolverines were excited to be playing in front of the home crowd again and were hoping to bounce back after their home opening loss last week.
Unfortunately, the Raven's picked up the first goal, with an unlucky bounce that made it past Wolverines' goaltender Kristen S. However, the Wolverines answered back with an excellent shot by Maeve C., to tie up the score late in the first. Assists went to Kya G. and Emmie F.
As the game progressed, the Wolverines found their stride and picked up the pace to dominate play for much of the second and third periods. The Wolverines collected their second goal of the game after Ada B. fired the puck past the Raven's goaltender during a battle in front of the net.
The Wolverines added two more goals in the third period. Maeve C. picked up her second of the game, from Ada B. and Emmie F. and Selyna B. wrapped up the Wolverines scoring, from Emmie F. and Faith A.
The Wolverines next home game is this Wednesday against Grand River.
