Michele Postrozny 1963 - 2018
The Wilmot Girls Hockey Association is shocked and saddened to learn of the sudden passing of founding member Michele Postrozny on Tuesday, July 17. Our hearts are sore, and our thoughts and prayers are with her husband Peter and their children Drew, Bethany, and Cassandra as they cope with Michele’s untimely death.

Michele and Peter were the driving force behind the formation of the WGHA. Michele was passionate about every aspect of the association, and especially the development of the FUNdamentals program for our very youngest participants. Her love for children shone through in everything she did – and she literally did everything. She has been a leader, initiating and/or helping to plan virtually every event ever held by the WGHA - from the original steering committee and the inaugural Executive, to Try Hockey Day, the Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament, the annual Awards Banquet, the Sock and Underwear Drive, and the 10th Anniversary Celebration, to name just a few. She was an Executive member since day one and remained a part of that team up until this past year, when she stepped back from the WGHA and moved on to other volunteer opportunities. Wolverine players all got to know Michele’s smiling face, because she was there cheering them on from the time they took their first ever step on the ice as a ‘baby Wolverine’, and throughout each and every season after that.

But for all that, Michele’s goal was never to receive recognition for her contributions. In fact, she avoided the spotlight and did a lot of her planning and preparation in the background. She seemed the most happy just watching all the girls out on the ice, having fun and enjoying the game of hockey.

Michele, we are heartbroken and will miss you deeply. It has been a privilege to know you and to work with you - may you rest in peace.
