Now that labour day has come and gone and the kids have gone back to school, it's time to start thinking about the upcoming hockey season. Let us first introduce ourselves, we are Erik King and Laura Cross, we will be the head coaches of this years Novice LL1 and L
L2.
Erik is the father of Kalina and was last years fundamentals head coach.
Laura is the Mother of Anna and was the trainer for last years Novice LL team.
The format is going to be a little different this year. The Wilmot girls Novice Local League teams will be playing in a new loop consisting of a number of local communities, playing half ice hockey.The games will follow the Hockey Canada recommendations for half ice games and will provide the opportunity for your daughter to have more puck touches and be more involved in the play then the regular full ice games.
Our first ice time is Saturday, September 15th from 1:30-2:20. Our next is Wednesday, September 19th from 5:30-6:20.These two ice sessions will be used for evaluation. We want to have evenly balanced teams and will be assigning teams after all the girls have been assessed based on these two on ice sessions.We are both looking for additional volunteers to managed our teams throughout the year. We need help in the way of assistant coaches, team managers, trainers, and on ice helpers.
