The Wilmot Wolverines Peewee BB team followed up a strong showing at this weekend’s Devilette’s tournament with an equally strong game against Cambridge on Tuesday. The team traveled to Cambridge Centre Mall for game one of their provincial play downs. The team had many offensive chances to start the game including a possible goal that was called off by the officials. Cambridge would strike first making it 1-0 in the second period. The Wolverines continued the offensive pressure and it paid off with the tying goal from Julia Kehl with the assist going to Marley O’Connell. The game would end a 1-1 tie. The Wilmot Wolverines Peewee BB team recently wrapped up their regular season in London. The team traveled to Argyle Arena to face the Devilettes. The Wolverines would play strong in this close fought match, but found themselves down 1-0 after London scored in the second period. In the third period with under 3 minutes left, Jenna Kumpf made a nice pass to Kamryn Lamond who would find the back of the net and tie the game. The team would finish the regular season with a 1-1 tie against the London Devilettes.

The Wilmot Wolverines traveled to the Cambridge Centre on Tuesday to take on the Cambridge Roadrunners. The Wolverines found themselves down 2-0 when Taryn McIntyre scored unassisted to cut the lead to 2-1. Cambridge would add to the lead with two more goals in the second extending their lead to 4-1 but Wilmot would mount a comeback. Paige Carter scored (assisted by Kara Cook) with 2 minutes remaining in the second to cut the lead to 4-2. Brianna Arends would score early in the third (assisted By Julia Kehl) to bring the game within a goal. The Wolverines would have plenty of opportunities to tie the game but 4-3 would be the final. The Wilmot Wolverines Peewee BB team played host to St.Thomas on Sunday. The game stayed a 0-0 tie until the third period when Jenna Kumpf stole the puck from a St.Thomas player and scored unassisted.
