Bantam Wolverines off to the Semi-Finals'
Submitted By KLarochelle on Wednesday, March 6, 2013
The Bantam Wolverines continue their phenomenal season with a birth in the semi-final's in two week's time....

The Wolverines had an eventful month of February, where they attended  the compressed Sweetheart Tournament in Stony Creek.  The team played hard against some very strong teams.  They shut out Stony Creek 2-0, and played a very tough team from Niagara Falls to a 2-1 victory.  They met their match playing Southpoint losing in what would be considered a battle of the top teams in their pool 3-1 in what would be a quarter final.  The team has performed admirably in their tournaments this season, finishing with a tournament record of 9-4-2 having made it to the finals's in two out of three events they entered.

The team has played well in their playoff round robin, carrying a 2-3-2 record into their final three games of the season.  They have already secured a position in the semi final's with a recent win over the Grand River Mustang's, and have 2nd place in their division still in sight.

The Wolverines take on the formidable undefeated Waterloo Ravens tonight (Tuesday March 6th at 9 pm), where they get to act as spoilers to the Ravens dream season.  The Wolverines lost to the Ravens to overtime at the Jason Cripps tournament in what was a tight Championship game in December.

Another battle occurred last night in Waterloo.  The Raven's once again took advantage of a strange bounce late in the game and scored the game winner in the third period.  The Wolverines hustled, outshot and outplayed the Raven's once again, only to come runner up once again.  After the game, the team vowed to make tonight's game different.

Tonight's game promises to be a barn burner!
