Welcome to the U13 Tier 1 tryouts! We are excited to get started and want to thank everyone upfront for their interest in the Wilmot Wolverines.
Please review the information provided here to know what to expect as we get started.
1) Tryout Criteria
1.
Grit, Aggression, and Competitiveness - with all components of the game
2.
Hockey IQ and Instinct - game awareness, positional-play, play-making, creativity
3.
Attitude - coachability, respectful teammate, dependability, work ethic
4.
Skill - skating, puck-handling, shooting, passing, etc
* NOTE: Would rather take a lesser-skilled player who is showing more combined competency in the first three categories!
2) Tryout Format
- Every player will receive a minimum of 3 tryouts (2 skill-skates, 1 game)
- Stokes Development will be running the two skill-skates
- The tryout list will be divided in two to attempt to create two 'balanced teams' for each of our first two tryout games (each team will get one game)
- Half @ Waterloo on Wednesday, April 24 (5:30pm at Albert McCormick)
- Half @ Guelph on Friday, April 26 (5:30pm at University of Guelph)
- Players will be informed at the first tryout as to which game they will be attending (please be ready to play either game)
- First large cut will be made Friday night (April 26) via this website and team page (using player secret number provided at the first tryout)
