Cripps Championship awaits!
The Bantam Wolverines pulled off an impressive semi final victory against the hard charging Kitchener Mustangs who had lost only one game all season.
The Wolverines wearing their "no lose blue's" were once again led by the JACk line, and team captain Jess Leiskau and MVP Ashley Leu the pair would mark the two goals needed to take the Wolverines to the finals on Sunday afternoon with scrappy persistence around the Mustangs net.
The only way Kitchener would get their goal, would be with two Wolverines in the box, as the games first star goalie Jillian Chesney turned away the rest of what Kitchener could muster against her. Second star of the game Kira Larochelle constantly chased down the occasional Mustang that dared to Venture into the Wolverines House and made those who chose to stay in the house wish they hadn't.
Even a late game penalty and a pulled goalie would not prevent the Wolverines from prevailing this night. They went home knowing that they had single handedly turned away all three Kitchener teams this tournament to secure their place as finalists in Sunday's Championship game at the Kitchener Memorial Auditorium Complex at 3:15 pm. They will face the league leading Waterloo Ravens who needed overtime to secure their place in the finals.
