Novice Rep for the Upcoming 2019-2020 Season
Submitted By Stacey Dineen on Sun 05 12, 19
All Ontario girls hockey associations will be implementing a brand new format for the Novice Rep division in 2019-20.

Importantly, many of the key elements of Novice Rep that most of us are familiar with -- regular season, playoffs, championship weekend -- will no longer exist at all.

Additionally, there will no longer be any rep divisions (i.e. Novice A, Novice B, Novice C).

Update: OWHA is having a meeting May 11 to discuss Novice.

We anticipate that by the fall, we will receive the new Novice competitive division format from the Ontario Women's Hockey Association. In the meantime, we know that some associations are advertising "Novice Rep" tryouts now (while others are waiting for more information from the OWHA before holding tryouts in the fall).

If you plan on attending these "Rep" tryouts, it's important to be aware that all girls hockey associations that are part of the OWHA will be implementing the new competitive format in the same way. We are committed to continuing with our focus on high-quality development of girls hockey. This includes a commitment to implement the new Novice competitive program when we receive the details from the OWHA.
