Welcome to the 2013-2014 Wolverine Midget Rep Tryouts
Like me, I’m sure you are ready for the season to get going! We will be playing in the Lower Lakes
Female Hockey League and will use our exhibition games to determine our final roster and whether we will play in the BB or B category. Please be mindful of the expectations and evaluation criteria throughout the tryout process.
Expectations:
· Hockey is a great team sport, and to be a cohesive and effective team it is important that players treat the coaching staff, fellow players, and officials with respect at all times. The coaching staff will return that respect.
· Please be at the rink at least 35 minutes before tryouts and 45 minutes before exhibition games.
· Players are to be fully ready to be on the ice 5 minutes prior to the scheduled time, and seated in the dressing room quietly awaiting instructions from the coaching staff.
· Players will wait quietly in the dressing room after each ice time with helmets, gloves and neck guards off for concluding comments from the coaching staff.
· Give a full effort at all times.
Evaluation Criteria:
ü Willingness to meet tryout expectations (listed above) and overall coach-ability
ü Demonstrating positive attitude and sportsmanship on the ice and in the dressing room
ü Team play
ü Giving a full and consistent effort
ü Individual hockey skills
Info for players coming to tryouts from other centres....if you played last season you will need a permission to skate form from your previous association, all players will need to register with the WGHA prior to tryouts (select the pay by cheque option), and all players will need to pay the $20 tryout info. Look forward to seeing you at tryouts!
With players trying out for different teams and a decision needed on what level we will be playing at by Sept. 20, the timelines for completing the tryout process are tight. I am committed to giving each player a fair chance to demonstrate their suitability for the Midget Rep team according to the above evaluation criteria. Here is our ice time and release schedule:

Team ice times and other Midget Rep commitments:
Remaining September ice times, tournament dates and team-building retreat at Chicopee on Sat. Oct. 5 can be viewed on the www.wilmotgirlshockey.com website (go to Midget B/BB in the team list). Home icetimes are Tuesdays and Sundays at 8:30 pm. Dryland dates TBA. We are playing in an international tournament in Pittsburgh Nov. 28 – Dec. 1 so all players will need passports. Team clothing will be purchased. We have already secured sponsorship for hats, pant shells and practice jerseys. Wilmot Rep fees are approx. $200 and we expect team budget to be approx. $350.
