2020 Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament, 2019-2020 (Wilmot Girls Hockey)

On behalf of the Wilmot Girls Hockey Association we are pleased to welcome all players, team officials, friends and families to the 13th Annual Kyla Kowalik Memorial Tournament. We wish you all good luck in a fun-filled weekend of hockey! Please join me in thanking the tournament committee and volunteers for making this weekend happen.  As well,  I would like to extend thanks to the parents and team officials who contribute so much time and effort to allow their athletes to participate in this great weekend of hockey. Currently, around 1,600 people in Ontario are waiting for a life-saving organ transplant. And though most of us believe that organ donation is a good thing, just over a quarter of us are registered as donors. Some great strides have been made in Ontario over the past year, but still more needs to be done. You can Spread the Word by encouraging your friends and family to register their consent to become organ and tissue donors.

Kyla Kowalik was the eldest daughter of Rick and Cecily Kowalik and big sister to Carly and Reese.  She was an avid athlete and from a young age displayed not only an interest in sports but many gifted skills as well.  Kyla played soccer, volleyball and basketball. She figure skated and did track and field.  But her true passion was hockey.
