Wolverine Midget Rep continue their winning ways.
The Wolverines Midget Rep team have moved on into the 3rd round semi finals of the LLFHL playoff's with a 2-0, 1-0 two game series win over Kitchener Lady Rangers today.  Strong team play, backstopped by back to back shut outs by goalies Gillian Chesney and Abbey Luckhardt have the team sporting a 5-1-1 record in the playoffs this month!

A strong month of hockey included a visit to the semi-finals of the Gretzky Tournament last week when the girls bowed out in the final four to the eventual champion team from Kapuskasing.

The Wolverines started off the month of February, drawing a strong opponent in the first round against Woolwich who had their number all season long.  The Wild had won the regular season series with two wins and a tie, took the Wolverines to the limit.  Wilmot came out strong in game one with a dominating 3-1 win.  Game two was a defensive clinic with neither team allowing a goal.  The Wild facing elimination, needed to win and did so forcing an overtime period to determine the winner.  Persistence and determination paid off with Shauna Chesney putting away a rebound for the series winner.

In Provincial playoff's, the Wolverines only had one game in February against the Waterloo Ravens, playing the away game to a solid 1-0 victory.  Early March will see the Wolverines play Woolwich, Brantford and Kitchener to finish off the round robin series to determine which team will represent our area at the Provincials tournament in April.
