Game 2 versus the Cambridge Roadrunners Teal was a much tighter game. The Wolverines opened up the scoring midway through the first period, during a scramble in front of the net with Sykora W. firing it into the net, assisted by Jayden D. That was it for scoring until the Roadrunners collected a goal with just 43 seconds remaining in the game, ending the game in a tie. Goaltender Kasey L. played well in net, supported by a strong defensive effort by all the Wolverines. Player of the game was awarded to Natasha H. for her consistent hard work.

The Waterloo Ravens were the Wolverines opponents in Game 3 and once again the Wolverines showed a great offensive effort. The Wolverines were able to get four pucks past the Ravens goaltender. Wolverines’ goaltender Kristen S., allowed only 1 goal to lead Wilmot to a 4-1 victory. Scoring for the Wolverines were Rowyn B., with her first of the season and Kya G., scoring her first two of the season. Maeve C. scored for the Wolverines as well. Assisting on the goals were Sykora W., and Maeve C. Wolverines player of the game was Rowyn B. for starting the Wolverines offensive attack with her goal.

After 3 games, the Wolverines finished second in the tournament standings, allowing them an opportunity to face the first place South Huron Sabres in the final game. The Wolverines came out a bit slow in the opening period of the game. However, for periods 2 and 3, the Wolverines fought a hard battle against the strong Sabres. In the end, the Sabres claimed a 4-0 victory.  Wolverines’ player of the game went to Lauryn P. who played tough and gave a strong effort.  The silver medal finish for the Wolverines brings their total medal count to 3 in as many tournaments. Another great weekend Wolverines!
