Exciting first tournament in Barrie
The Peewee team played in the Barrie Sharkfest tournament on November 14 & 15, 2014.  The excitement was building for weeks before the event as the girls prepared to show some big city teams how to play hockey.

The first challenge for the team and the parents, was just trying to get there Friday morning.  Winter set in on Waterloo Region and it made for some pretty slippery driving.  But with today's modern communication and maps, everyone made it to the first game in plenty of time.

The girls received their brand new Wolverine team T-shirts before the first game and they looked like a million bucks demonstrating awesome Wolverine spirit.

This fueled the girls for playing some super exciting hockey in which the girls dominated the play in all of the 3 games. Unfortunately for the girls though, there was some unlucky bounces and a puck that just didn't want to go through the posts for the Wolverines.  They ended up losing all 3 game with scores of 3-1, 2-0 and 3-1.

ESN reporter got this statement from Coach Jake, "I'm really proud of our girls this weekend. Everyone of them gave it 110% all the time.  We had many scoring opportunities, but we just couldn't get a lucky bounce and get it into the net."

The Wolverines are taking a few days to let the bruises heal but will be back to practices next weekend and then back to the first half of the Local League season.  Exciting times are coming for the girls. They have 3 more tournaments this year and 14 more house league games which are going to continue being exciting.
