A great day at the Ricoh Coliseum!
On October 20th the Wilmot Wolverines Peewee BB hockey team travelled to the Ricoh Coliseum to play an Exhibition game against the Ancaster Avalanche Peewee A team!
A great time was had by both the players and the parents as we spent the day at Ricoh Coliseum in downtown Toronto. The fun started at 12 noon as the girls played a great game against Ancaster on the very same ice surface that the Toronto Marlies play on. Even though we lost 2-1 there were many great things that the coaching staff saw in the game. We had strong games from everyone on our team right from our goaltending to our defence and our forwards and the girls really enjoyed playing in the Ricoh Coliseum!
After leaving the arena to grab a quick bite to eat it was back to the Ricoh Coliseum to watch the Toronto Marlies play the Hamilton Bulldogs at 3pm. The girls really showed their spirit and because of their constant cheering and attempts to get the team on the scoreboard they were rewarded by being moved to ice level directly behind the Marlies' net. This move proved worthwhile as they made several appearances on the scoreboard! Although we were on the wrong end of a 2-1 hockey game the Marlies ended up on the right side of a 2-1 final.
Overall the day was full of laughs, good times, team bonding and 2 exciting hockey games!
