Peewee BB Wolverines Take Silver in Waterloo Tourney
The Peewee BB Wolverines have just finished a fantastic two week stretch of hockey. Playing 10 games over that time, the team has posted a 5-2-3 record including a 6 game unbeaten streak. The streak ended in a classic Gold Medal game where the girls lost 2-1 in Overtime to the host Waterloo Ravens. It was a battle all the way and the girls showed a lot of character in tying the score with only 24 seconds left in regulation and 6 attackers on the ice.
In the round robin games,the Peewee BB's beat Whitby 3-2, Niagara 4-2 and tied Durham West and Peterborough by identical 0-0 scores. The six points placed them in first place in their four team pool and qualified them for the Gold/Silver game.
The team has really started to gel and are playing with a new level of confidence. Playing a high pressure game, the girls are becoming a very tough team to play against. In LLFHL league play, the Peewee BB's have shrugged off a slow start and have even their record at 3-3-1 good for 7 points and a 3 way tie atop the standings. Keep up the great work Wolverines !!
