Wolverines Want It
Congratulations to the Wilmot Wolverine Atom C team as they defeated the Twin Centre Hericanes 2-0 on the weekend.  The Wolverines now sit with three wins and a tie in their Provincial play down run.  The girls will head to St. Clement this Wednesday to play their second game against the Hericanes in the round robin series for a Provincial spot in Ottawa.

The Wolverines came flying onto the ice in the first period and took an early lead as Leah Wagler fired one into the net after a beautiful cross-ice pass from teammates Tia DeRuiter and Maddie Stainer-Mace.  Alisha Latyn stood on her head making some incredible saves and remained focused as the Wilmot net-minder.  The second goal was scored by Lindsay Slessor after great passing from Briana Arends and hard-working Julia James.  Wilmot gave it their all and the back-checking paid off as they tried their best to keep the puck out of their end; special effort getting back by Carson Weiler and Sierra Egli.  Wicked shots on net from the point from all three defensive players, Kate Baumgart, Avery Vance and James.  Excellent hustle in the game from Wagler, Abby Daer and Arends.  The Wolverines have two games left in their round robin play down.  GO WOLVERINES!
