B’s brought home the GOLD this past weekend in the Annual Kitchener Fall fest
Tournament!
The first
game against the Ancaster Avalanche brought on a tough loss for the Wolverines.
They succumbed to a 2-1 loss. Lone goal scored by Sarah Schnarr.
Games two was a great win against the Toronto Wildcats. A goal from Leah Yantzi and two goals from Jayden Calder gave the girls a 3-1 win! Strong defense from Bella Davidson and Sydney “Chappy” Chapman!
Game three proved to be another strong win for the Wolverines as they beat the Grand River Mustangs 3-1. A goal in the first period from Paige Jurica started the girls on the win! Strong teamwork from Syd Petzke and Emma Schweitzer helped the team to score two more goals from Calder.
In the Semi-Finals Wilmot played the Sarnia Sting and ensured their spot in the finals as they won 6-0! Shut out for Kaitlyn Robertson!!!! Two goals from Calder and first goal of the season for Kassia Deep in the first period gave the Wolverines a big lead. Two more goals came in the second period from Calder and one from Mikayla O’Connell. Great assist from Alexis James and strong defense from Rayne Bowden.
The final game was action packed! The girls played a hard game against the Ancaster Avalanche. A tie game of 1-1 took the girls into overtime. With less than two minutes left in overtime Calder scored the winning goal!
