Sweetheart Tournament Day #1. Truculence and Tenacity
submitted by Chris Larochelle.

Your Bantam H/L Wolverines ride into Stoney Creek on a two game undefeated streak, coming off their most dominant performance of the season, a 4-0 shut out of the Grand River Mustangs.
Game one placed the Wolverines up against the Stoney Creek Sabres Bantam minor team, in what turned out to be an evenly matched affair.  Though Stoney Creek struck first, the Wolverines never give up attitude persevered with a tally in the third after some great D to D passing between Ryan Denison that led to a blast by Jessica Watson that was redirected in by winger Suzy Vukovic.  That goal would secure the Wolverines first point of the tournament.

Game #2 would prove to be a very rough affair, with some suspect officiating, but in the end the Bantam H/L Wolverines pulled through with an exciting come from behind game against Stoney Creek Sabre's Major Bantam team.  Many of you fought through the tight checking, hook's and slashing going on to grit your teeth and play like a Wolverine.  This was a game of truculence and tenacity.  When winger Ashley Leu was axed down with a two hander that went unpunished by the officials, it served to be a lightning rod for the Wolverines who took their game to a new level of intensity.   The Sabres would fall victim to the Wolverine attack and had no response two a two goal come from behind effort in the third that move the Wolverines on to victory!

Highlights included some outstanding saves by our Jillian Chesney, some hard work up front by the Minhas Twins, and a fantastic two goal effort by Kira Larochelle, who potted the game winner with minutes left in the third frame.
Congratulations to those who were able to keep their temper under control out there on the ice, and to those who were able to walk away from the post game antics put on not only by the sour sport players, but in some cases their parents.
Good on you Wolverines! Go Wolverines go!
